Can I Drink Coffee During Pregnancy?

The short answer is 'yes, you can still enjoy coffee during pregnancy', but the NHS advises to keep your caffeine intake under 200mg per day.
Caffeine and Pregnancy: What’s Advised
Pregnant women in the UK are advised not to exceed 200mg of caffeine daily, equivalent to about two cups of instant coffee. Studies highlight that high caffeine consumption increases risks of pregnancy complications, so it’s best to limit but not necessarily cut out your consumption . It’s also important to remember that caffeine is present in tea, chocolate, and some soft drinks, so it all counts toward your daily total.
How Much is in Your Cup?
Regular coffee varies: instant coffee typically contains around 62mg per cup, while a filter coffee may have 96mg. Coffee shop servings can vary, and may be much higher - sometimes over the full 200mg limit in a single cup! Decaf options, like Radiant Roast, comes in far lower at around -15mg per serving, making it an ideal swap for a pregnancy-safe brew.
Radiant Roast Decaf Collagen Coffee
We use Brazilian coffee decaffeinated using a sugar cane decaf process to remove the caffeine whilst keeping the full rich flavour. Radiant Roast also has the added benefit of being blended with hydrolysed collagen, formulated by an award winning obstetrician at Purer Mama.
Collagen is increasingly recognised as a valuable supplement during pregnancy. It can support:
- Skin elasticity
- Joint health and flexibility
- Strengthen hair and nails
- Pelvic floor health

What makes Radiant Roast special isn’t just the low caffeine or collagen - it is the warm, flavourful experience, so that you can still embrace your morning coffee ritual with peace of mind knowing you’re caring for yourself and your growing baby...it is your morning coffee - but better!
As long as you are mindful, you can still enjoy caffeine during pregnancy, just be aware of the caffeine included in your daily drinks and food.
If in doubt, consult your healthcare provider before making changes, and always listen to your body’s needs, as they change during each trimester.
