Just Five ingredients

41% Ghanaian Cacao : The real stuff - not processed cocoa. Rich in antioxidant flavanols, it delivers a deep, fruity chocolate flavour alongside slow-release energy to help carry you through a long feed or a longer night.

Coconut Milk Powder: Creamy and dairy-free - and more than just texture. Coconut milk powder contains potassium, magnesium, calcium and selenium to replenish the electrolytes you lose through breastfeeding and support healthy hydration.

Brewer's Yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) - 10%: A traditional galactagogue — from the Greek for 'milk' — used by breastfeeding mamas for generations. Naturally rich in B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6), chromium, iron, selenium and protein to nourish you from the inside out and support a healthy milk supply.

Coconut Sugar: A gentle caramel sweetness, naturally lower on the glycaemic index than cane sugar. Contains a small amount of inulin - a soluble fibre that helps make blood sugar spikes less likely. No refined sugar, ever.

Salt (a pinch): Just enough to balance and deepen the chocolate flavour. No fillers. No hidden extras. That really is everything.

What is Go With The Flow and what does it do?
Go With The Flow is a lactation hot chocolate created by HotTea Mama to support breastfeeding mamas. Made with five natural ingredients - 41% Ghanaian cacao, brewer's yeast, coconut milk powder, coconut sugar and a pinch of salt - it's designed to support milk supply, restore hydration and provide nourishing energy during the postpartum period.

It works best as a daily ritual alongside regular feeding, good hydration and an effective latch. Think of it as a delicious, functional part of your wider breastfeeding toolkit.

Can I drink Go With The Flow whilst pregnant?

It is not recommended during pregnancy as there is insufficient research on its effects.

What is a galactagogue? Does brewer's yeast actually work?

A galactagogue is any food, herb or supplement traditionally used to support breast milk production. Brewer's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) has been used as a natural galactagogue for generations, across many cultures.

Brewer's yeast is naturally rich in B-complex vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6), protein, chromium, iron and selenium — nutrients important for postpartum recovery and energy. Its B vitamin content is thought to support prolactin, the milk-making hormone. (Jia et al., Nutrients 2021; NCBI LactMed 2023)

In a survey of 190 breastfeeding mothers, 46% believed brewer's yeast helped increase their milk supply. (Ryan et al., J Acad Nutr Diet 2023) The BLOOM study — a multicentre randomised controlled trial — is currently investigating brewer's yeast for milk supply in a clinical setting. (Grzeskowiak et al., Int Breastfeed J 2024)

The traditional evidence is strong and many mamas find it genuinely helpful, but more large-scale clinical trials are ongoing. We recommend using Go With The Flow alongside good feeding practice and support from a lactation consultant if you have any concerns.

Is this hot chocolate gluten free?

No - It may contain gluten due to the brewer's yeast, so it is not suitable if you have a gluten allergy or coeliac disease. Anyone with a yeast allergy, inflammatory bowel condition, recurrent thrush, or who takes certain medications (including some antidepressants or diabetes medications) should check with their GP or healthcare first.

Is it vegan and free from refined sugar?

Yes - 100% plant-based and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. There is no refined cane sugar; all sweetness comes from coconut sugar, which has a lower glycaemic index and contains a small amount of inulin - a soluble fibre that helps reduce blood sugar spikes.

Can I enjoy it hot and cold?

Absolutely. Go With The Flow has been designed for both. For a warming hot chocolate, stir four teaspoons into warm milk of your choice. For a summer treat, blend with cold oat milk and ice for a creamy lactation milkshake. We recommend oat milk either way - it's delicious and naturally supportive of lactation thanks to its beta-glucan content.
